Looking for witnesses in Penticton for Old Dominion and at Cascades casino on Saturday February the 8th
I apologize for this lengthy post.
This is a long shot but I hope someone can help me out. This is about a fight outside of Cascades casino in Penticton on Saturday after the old dominion concert. I will admit I was a little intoxicated so im foggy on some details but here is the gist of the story. (Please do not be rude if you think that this is a stupid post and that nothing will come out of)
On Saturday the 8th of February me and my friends were at the old dominion concert in Penticton Kelowna at the south Okanagan event centre. After the concert we went to the Cascades casino to continue the night. I was in line for a drink and I noticed a guy in a wheel chair pretending to be mentally handycapped and mentally retarted(I’m sorry if these are the incorrect words, I am not trying to offend anyone) and was being pushed around by a friend. The reason for thinking he was pretending is because I was 99% sure I saw the exact guy who was in the wheel chair, walking perfectly fine at the concert. Also the wheel chair he was in belonged to the casino. Im not sure what their motive was for pretending to be in a wheel chair and using excessive stereotypical mentally handicapped movements, but it made me really mad to see(I have a cousin who is mentally handicapped and can’t walk so this really got to me). I told my friends that guy is pretending to be handicapped and it disgusted me. As the night went on this group of friends knew we were talking about them and they seemed worried but i dont think they expected us to question them because it would be very wrong to call someone out for this. So we just left it. Then three security guards were watching us and them for a good 5 minutes so my friend went and talked to the security guards and told them what we thought ect. The security guards said they thought he was faking this too but they were trying to figure it out before they accused anyone of anything because it could have ended very badly if they were wrong. Im not gonna lie this guy was a good actor, which makes me sick to think about. So I think the security guards just kinda gave up because they never did anything.
A little while later we noticed they were leaving the casino so a few of my friends followed them outside to see if the guy started walking once they were outside. The guy pushing the wheel chair noticed they were being followed so they stopped and basically wanted to see what my friends problems were and why they were trying to prove them wrong so bad. I was still inside waiting for a friend playing black jack so I did not witness any of this but this is from what I heard.
My one friend basically said why are you faking this, that’s so rude(I dont remember exact words). Then things started getting heated and the guy pushing the wheel chair clocked my friend in the face, breaking his nose and chipping a few of his teeth in one single punch. At this point my other friend who was outside with him was mad and was trying to shake the guys wheel chair to make him stand up(My friend probably should not have done this but now he was mad). The guy then feel out of his wheel chair and was laying on the ground pretending he couldn’t move. My friend who got punched said im calling the cops and then the guy who claimed to be disabled stood up and he and his friend booked it out of there as fast as they could. My friend did actually call the cops and so the cops came and took his statement but because no one really witnessed it nor did we know who the guy was there was nothing they could do besides they made him go to the hospital in an ambulance. It makes me disgusted that these guys were doing this for absolutely no reason. Being disabled is not a joke and faking being disabled is absolutely disgusting. Because my friend did call the cops right after this happened technically something can be done about it. Hopefully paying to fix his teeth, because that is very expensive. Also might I add how bad of a job security at the casino did with this because in the end, all they cared about was retrieving their wheel chair the guy had left outside when they ran away.
So im hoping someone happened to of been at the concert or casino and maybe knows who this was or maybe even witnessed something. If you know anyone who was there, please ask them. Anything to get a name or witness would be greatly appreciated.
From what I witnessed the guy in the wheel chair was in a red flannel and had a black ball cap on and his friend pushing him around had a black flannel on. There was also another friend with them who was in a blue weird pattern country dress shirt (dont know how to describe it). All males seemed around the age of 19-25. Now that I think about it I should have taken a picture of these guys but unfortunately did not.
Also any input on if this is worth dealing with or if you have any ideas would be great thank you.

Welcome to the B.L.o.K. (Big List of Kelowna)
Tons of posts are asking about this town (mine included), so I decided to go through the
/kelowna history and put all the responses in a central place. It can be a guide for visitors and Kelowna newbies in general. All the information has been gathered exclusively from posts here. If you'd like to add anything to the list, or see any errors, reply below and I'll add it to the main post below. (Mods, if this is long-term useful, you can sticky it.)
