Source: https://www.bungie.net/en/News/Article/49971 This week at Bungie, Hawkmoon, next-gen, and the Dawning, oh my! OK, so it’s been another action-packed week with updates to the game and news about the future, so let’s just get into it. We started off on Tuesday with an early morning dev update on the state of rewards in the game. We wanted to share some of the plans to improve rewards as well as a few other exciting things coming up. The whole update is definitely worth a read, but I stole some bullets:
In Season 13, we’re adding six new Legendary weapons to our ritual activities, two each for strikes, Gambit, and Crucible.
In addition to the weapons above, Nightfall strikes are getting three unique weapons, with The Palindrome, The Swarm, and Shadow Price all making their Destiny 2 debuts. If you’re brave enough to take on Grandmaster Nightfalls, you will be also able to earn Adept versions of these weapons.
DDoS protection for Destiny 2 players on all consoles will be coming in Season 13.
The Vault of Glass raid returns in Year 4.
Crossplay is coming in 2021.
Two strikes (Fallen S.A.B.E.R. and Devil’s Lair) are coming to Destiny 2 in Season 13.
Legendary and Master Lost Sector rotation will be expanded to include the Lost Sectors on the Moon in Season 13, and there will be new three new pieces of Exotic armor to chase.
That very same day, Update 3.0.1 went live with several important fixes as well as next-gen enhancements for consoles so you can experience the beauty of Destiny 2 with moar frames and moar FOV! We wrote up an article that covers these new enhancements in detail as well as the new ability to pick up bounties from the Companion App and the return of the Prophecy dungeon. This week also saw the return of Hawkmoon. The highly sought-after Exotic Hand Cannon makes its debut into Destiny 2 with a reworked perk that no longer relies on RNG but still packs a punch. Season Pass owners can now visit Spider to set off on the quest to claim their Hawkmoon. Video Link
The Dawning
This very merry morning we shared a peek at this year’s Dawning event that kicks off next week! Video Link Eva Levante is coming to town! She has new cookie recipes and new gifts for all the good Guardians... even if they did adopt Darkness powers. But I digress. Check out our Dawning page for a quick look at what the event has to offer this year. The Tower is going to be all dressed up again, and we’re putting the Griswold touch on the decorations. Image Linkimgur Everyone knows the best gifts vaporize your enemies. Glacioclasm is a new Legendary Fusion Rifle being introduced during this event with random rolls available so each one you open is special. Plus - Glacioclasm is just fun to say. Try saying it without smiling, I dare you! I double-dog dare you. Anyway, here is a preview of the weapon. Image Linkimgur As you are flying around delivering baked goods you will need a new ship to spread cheer in style. Eva has a new Exotic ship that you will be able to upgrade throughout the event to change its look. You will be able to customize the engine streams, different spawn effects, and unlock a new animated shader unique to the ship! Image Linkimgur Eva has also set up a fun new celebration for this year's Dawning that involves even more gifts... for you! As the community generates Dawning Spirit by completing activities you will be able to progress a special community pursuit with your cookie skills and then find new gifts waiting for you under the tree. The big glowy one, you can’t miss it. We don’t want to spoil all the surprises but you may find some upgrade materials in these gifts. There will also be some fun stuff at the Eververse store as well. All of the new items added to the store will be available at some point for Bright Dust with the exception of the Glee Barrage and Merry Maker weapon ornaments and Happy Trails finisher which will be available for Silver. Here is a preview of a few of the Sparrows, Ghost Shells, and a ship that are sure to get you in the spirit. Image Linkimgur Image Link Image Linkimgur Image Link Image Linkimgur
Super Smash Warlock Melee
Shortly after launch, we put out a hotfix to reel in Stasis a bit. When we made these changes we wanted them to have as much efficacy as possible and that meant using broad strokes to cover a lot of ground. This led to us hitting Penumbral Blast's range harder than many players felt was necessary. Upon review and hearing the feedback we felt that while Penumbral Blast's range needed to come in - there is room to push it back out and have it feel more consistent when hitting targets at range. Here is a preview of patch notes coming in a hotfix next week.
Penumbral Blast:
Projectile range increased by 37%
Minimum distance to cast ranged melee reduced by 32%.
This allows you to throw the ranged melee closer to targets.
One... Million... Dollars
Image Linkimgur You have been absolutely crushing it raising money to support the Bungie Foundation and Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. As of this writing you have raised 1,036,555 so far and you still have until December 13 to donate to a cause that benefits sick kids across the country. If you haven’t donated yet, there are some great prize incentives listed here for donating. Speaking of incentives, now that we have hit $1 million we are going to start releasing Destiny lore readings by the following special guests for every $50,000 donation milestone we hit!
Giacomo Gianniotti: Dr. Andrew DeLuca, Grey’s Anatomy
Thank you to everyone who has donated or volunteered to help raise money through streams and other incentives. It’s always amazing what this community can do when it comes together. Finish strong!
Spreading Update Cheer
Image Linkimgur We had another deployment this week which means our player support specialists were watching closely and tracking any issues that popped up. This is their report.
CONNECTION AND SERVER ISSUES
Since Update 3.0.1.1 on December 8, we’ve been investigating various connection issues, including the following error codes: PRUNE, and WEASEL. The BEE, CACAO, CENTIPEDE, and CHICKEN error codes have since been resolved.
TRIALS OF OSIRIS REWARD SCHEDULE
Trials of Osiris is expected to return on December 18. Due to the delay of launching Trials, a few changes were made to the reward schedule: During the first four weeks, the Flawless chest will drop an Adept Weapon. The fifth week will drop an armor piece, with subsequent weeks switching the rewards back and forth between Adept weapons and armor as previously mentioned here. Adept weapon mods will drop each week.
PS4 FRIENDS LIST UPDATE
Since the launch of Beyond Light, we’ve been investigating an issue for PlayStation 4 players who could only see a small number of their friends online in their Roster. We discovered this issue only affected those with more than 100 friends in their Roster. This issue has been resolved, but after further testing we discovered another issue affecting how online friends are displayed. That issue will be fixed on December 14 in Hotfix 3.0.1.2.
XBOX SERIES X|S FREEZING ISSUE
While unlikely, it’s possible that Destiny 2 may freeze up when signing out of an Xbox Live profile while inside the game. We recommend quitting out of the Destiny 2 app first before signing out. If the game does freeze, players can press the Xbox Guide button on their controller, select Destiny 2, and then select Quit. This issue will be fixed on December 14 in Hotfix 3.0.1.2.
VESPER OF RADIUS UPDATE
Last Friday, we disabled Vesper of Radius due to it being possible to cast a Rift while falling off a ledge which, when combined with Stasis, could result in a quick lethal combo to opposing players in Crucible. Rift energy wasn’t being used, so it was possible to repeat again right after execution. This issue will be fixed on December 17 in Hotfix 3.0.1.3.
SPOILS OF CONQUEST
We’re investigating an issue where players can put their Spoils of Conquest raid currency in their vault, resulting in it disappearing. While we continue our investigation, players should refrain from putting Spoils of Conquest in their vault.
NEXT-GEN UPDATES
Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 players who are migrating from Xbox One and PlayStation 4, respectively, will need to download the full-size version of Destiny 2 to get all of the benefits of our next-gen update. For more information, please read our TWAB from December 3. PlayStation 4 players upgrading to PlayStation 5 may need to highlight Destiny 2 on the PlayStation 5 home screen or PlayStation 5 Store, click the three dots menu, and select the PlayStation 5 Upgrade download. Click here for more information.
Along with our next-gen updates, we discovered that some player settings on PC were transferred to players’ console accounts if they are Cross Saved. Until we can implement a fix, console players experiencing FPS or screen-tearing issues can go into their game’s Settings > Video, and choose “Reset to Default” to resolve these issues.
KNOWN ISSUES
While we continue investigating various known issues, here is a list of the latest issues that were reported to us in our #Help Forum:
We’re investigating reports that cross-gen matchmaking sometimes doesn’t work.
FPS issues on PC. Please help us determine the cause by posting your information in this thread.
PlayStation Remote Play reverts controller remapping and may not function at all.
Deafening Whisper doesn’t trigger the Abyssal Extractors perk on Nezarec’s Sin Exotic helmet.
Nezarec’s Sin Exotic helmet no longer triggers for five seconds after the second kill and all buff kills are now 2.5 seconds. This is intentional, but we failed to call it out in the patch notes for Update 3.0.0.1. The “original” functionality was a bug that applied 2.5 seconds twice for each subsequent kill.
Necrotic Grip doesn’t give melee energy on corrupted combatant kills. This is intentional, and the Exotic will be updated to remove the text mentioning this.
Necrotic Grip doesn’t poison combatants when a ranged melee attack breaks their shield from full.
Honed for Speed and Ascendant Champion Triumphs don't unlock when completing the Keep of Honed Edges Ascendant Challenge.
Toland doesn’t appear in the Shattered Ruins Ascendant Challenge.
Surrounded perk buff does not linger when using Surrounded Spec mod.
True Prophecy has been removed from world loot pool. This is intentional.
The Shotgun Dexterity arm mod shown in legs category in Collections.
The Line in the Sand weapon model has random protrusion when held.
The Unrelenting weapon perk isn’t functional.
Lost Lament quest sometimes needs to be abandoned and reacquired to continue.
Thunderlord is currently missing its scope.
The Ahamkara Bones may not spawn in the Agonarch Abyss Ascendant Challenge.
For a full list of emergent issues in Destiny 2, players can review our Known Issues article. Players who observe other issues should report them to our #Help forum.

Image Linkimgur Welcome to yet another exciting edition of Movie of the Week. This is your time to shine as we share a few of our favorite community created videos we come across during the week. Here are picks for this week. Movie of the Week: Turtles in their Teens. Video Link Movie of the Week: We can build bridges... Video Link As always, our winners are taking home a special emblem. If you won, congrats! Just please make sure you put a link to your Bungie.net profile in the description of your video.

Tag your creation with #DestinyArt on whatever platform you like to post your art on to help us find it easier. Twitter, Instagram, and our Creations page are our favorite spots to scroll through the community's talent. If you win, please reply to your winning post with your Bungie.net profile link so we can get you your emblem! This is going to be the last TWAB of the year. Don’t worry, we’re not all going on a big hiatus at once. We will still be around. This is the time of year where many of us like to take some time away from work to be recharged and enjoy the cold wet darkness of the PNW at home with the fam. I mean, we were at home already, but now we’re not talking to our computers all day. We’ve made sure that the feedback is still flowing, and that you have the latest info on ongoing issues and anything new that pops up. The Dawning isn’t the only thing starting next week, we also have raid challenges going live for Deep Stone Crypt so keep an eye out for that. It’s been a wild year. It’s almost hard to remember what it was like to be in the studio at this point. Depending on how everything shakes out it will be nice to get back there sometime next year. Until then, we will keep plugging away from our offices, living rooms, garages, patios, and other random rooms around our homes. We still have a lot of work to do. We shared some of our short-term plans with you this week, and there is a whole lot more coming in 2021 as well. See you next year! <3 Cozmo

I Would Like To Start A Low-cost Green & Legal Revolution With You.
I know you're tired kaya ingat sa information overload. May I also kindly suggest to please divide this online resource. You may also copy this since it's open-sourced material created by me. Acknowledge mo na lang through donation and/or being good with what you do. Lahat naman kailangan itong green restorative framework :) . This is most probably my last shot before I give-up upon this concept and just slave away in silence. First and foremost, no hate, and we shall acknowledge the gov't as needed. Also, if you're physically vulnerable, and a liability once you catch COVID-19, then I guess it's best to just support this positive movement in other means; invest in your health according to your organic genotypical needs, then let's sweat together later. *No respect = we'll be red-tagged. It's the undebatable black pill prerequisite that might also unlock the opportunity to hearken everyone's hearts so that we can heal & understand together despite our differences. lol. Acknowledge everyone, respect everyone. - It's the natural law of man somewhat distorted byTwitter, memes, and bleeding hearts**.** Second, I only have the applicable visions & generalistic algorithm, and not the exact science, experiential skills, and money. Though I'm a 27/M/5'6/Lean/Single/Straight life-long autodidact systems learner. Third, this should be open-sourced, modular, and have constant reminders & feedback c/o social media & climate-proof physical writings. Goldfish memory tayo kasi. Fourth, edible & restorative fast-growing plants will be sowed in both the marginalized areas and any places that we could with permission. We shall achieve low-cost organic resilience and a message about circularism / Permaculture, where we shall disseminate on various social media platforms in a legal, respectable, and pwedeng pa-kwela pero basta ligal. Fifth, this can be done with a car, simple gardening-equipments, volunteer labor, recyclable materials, useful trash, seeds, Permaculture principles, low-cost passive organic urban gardening systems, depression, and other resourceful ideas that we can come up with. Sixth (I'm still thinking about this): if you're recovering from something that is related to overspending, habit-formed whatever, & materialism, then I guess this is the perfect time to collate your spares to a plastic bottle, or your excess items somewhere to be 1donated / 2sold in the garage sale / 3used by the volunteers, then have it inventoried & consolidated to a bank with open-source data about its balance. The plan is to sequester the cheapest land somewhere in the Visayas / Mindanao, or in the outskirts of Luzon, so that we can have an organic permaculture hub where we can grow the needed restorative plants for future projects, and a safe zone to organically rehabilitate any volunteer's health in this urban JPop-dubstep-Duterte forest. The land should be badly cheap. Kahit ba in bad condition, we can still restore it with Permaculture. Lulubog din naman karamihan nang Pilipinas decades from now, given the climate models- that's why we have to act accordingly, cohesively, and legally as a peaceful proactive Filipino collective, instead of being the future Filipino immigrants thriving through the deadly seas with our inflatables due to our individualistic & dysfunctional reactive "sustainable" preparation. Harsh, but it's the cold hard truth and I don't mince my words because I care for our future that needs the truth to curate the hyper-accurate process & desired outcome. Kumbaga may foresight na tayo. Livestreaming, vlogging, getting permits & acknowledgment from the gov't should also be materialized for purposes that you already know since we're dealing with human nature trying its best to streamline with the over-competent Orwellian times and the Hegelian Dialectic Paradigm. Seventh, I don't have strong knowledge about laws. But this is open-source, hence, I'm confident that we will be guided accordingly by the good Juris pipols. I love you**.** Eighth, the marginalized need this the most. We'll eventually need this too once SHTF with our economy (this will eventually happen, SO don't WORRY, lol). Ninth, It's long term, low-cost, modular, legal & peaceful volunteer project that follows the blended conventional & EMERGY economic-model. Eventually self-organizing (Hi agile pipols, I love you), restorative, sustainable and doesn't need the usual political paradigm of unsustainably handing out store-bought items to the marginalized, where the taxes & the corporate earnings don't usually follow the kind circular model of the sequestered fiat money & shares to be recirculated for the public to freely grow. Parang law of nature where birds like eating seeds, and later on shitting undigested seeds back to the living soil; that grow into plants, trees, and flowers that we smell, eat and trample. Tenth, open to suggestions. Kahit ano pa yan. Systems Inspirations: 1 Permaculture Principles by David Holmgren. 2 Resilience.org by Richard Heinberg (Free premium course & certification.) 3 Resilient Indigenous Societies and Other Ancient Functional Methodologies - Google 4 Low-cost Aquaponics & Vertical Farming. 5 Circularism / Closed Feedback Loop System - Physics 6 Meaningful Order Out of Chaos - Google 7 Seven Toxicities by Dr. Rashid Buttar 8 Legal Urban Guerilla Farming. 9 Rammed Earth Technology 10 Sustainable Technology 11 Open Sourced Sustainable Community - Google 12 Depression, anxiety, hot cacao, and a willing mind. 13 Integration back into EMERGY economic model 14 And lots of acknowledgement coming from the gov't, because Orwellian 1984, and there are bigger root causes that we must deal with. Let's deal with it so that we can modularly get over the complex societal mess later on. “Though the problems of the world are increasingly complex, the solutions remain embarrassingly simple.” ― Bill Mollison, Permaculturist, (1928–2016) Send me a PM and I'll send you the Discord channel para iwas spam. I don't bite. I'll definitely cry once I see people from left to right political, discipline, and preferential hemispheres working on this. YOLO. Take care. - R_369 Edit 1: formatting
Flash Dream Treasure Hunt Happening Now! Ungifted Villagers, Art (Great, Rock-head, etc.), Sanrio Posters, Gulliver, Seasonal DIYs, and More :)
EDIT 2: Chartreuse and mystery gift locations and identifications have been posted! I didn't post the gold or purple gifts since those were mostly in plain sight. But if you're curious about any of those, feel free to ask :) I'm glad everyone had fun, and be on the look out for my next giveaway! EDIT: CLOSED Thank you all for participating and I hope you had as much fun as I did :) Thank you for all the kind words and support! Check back after redemption has ended for the list of locations :)
Hi everyone :) I've been feeling kinda down, so I decided to plan a treasure hunt to spread some joy and fun around! Also celebrating reaching 1000 hours on ACNH and finding Raymond on my villager hunt today! It's 7:30PM EST right now, and you'll have until 8:30PM EST to claim gifts on this hunt. After that, I'll message people for redemption, starting at 9:00PM EST. Good luck everyone!
Dream address: DA-0670-0437-7786 Note that my dream will be set to around 1:00PM so it'll be light out for you to find items, but all times on this post is in real-time EST!
To keep things organized, I’ve laid out several rules. Please read these rules, as failure to follow them will prevent you from claiming items!
Most important rule: Do NOT edit or delete your comment. I will completely ignore anyone who does so. My phone gets notifications from the Reddit app the second you post here, so if your comment does not match that exact notification, I will not respond. This is to prevent people from “trading up,” i.e. claiming one item, and then editing the comment when they find something better. Just trying to make it fair for everyone, and also editing will confuse me haha
This subreddit may auto-filter your comment if it detects currency items. Try your best to avoid this (examples of my poor attempts below). But I will not be responsible for these instances, and claiming items will be FCFS based on what shows up for me
Each person may claim ONE of the following options:
1 chartreuse gift,
Up to 2 g0ld gifts,
Up to 3 purple gifts,
1 g0ld and 1 purple gift, OR
1 mystery gifts (red), and 1 purple gift
[[To clarify, you only get to claim one listed option, not one from each option (thus, you may claim 1-3 gifts, NOT 10).]] I’ve put a lot of my own time and resources to finding and buying these items, and setting up this treasure hunt. Please be respectful to me and other participants by only claiming the items you want/need. Don’t just claim them for resale or trade! :(
Mystery gifts are located in inaccessible locations, so you won't know what’s in them until you receive it. Once someone has claimed their mystery gift, I’ll update the post with what the items were :) To claim, simply tell me the location of the mystery gift
To claim something, use ONLY the following format: [ITEM/MYSTERY] in [COLOR] bag, by/at/on/behind [LOCATION] [ITEM/MYSTERY] in [COLOR] bag, by/at/on/behind [LOCATION] [ITEM/MYSTERY] in [COLOR] bag, by/at/on/behind [LOCATION] (Make sure each item is separated by line breaks, not by commas.
Example for proper claiming:
Tree branches in green bag, by the left tree behind resident services
Mystery in blue bag, by the right tree behind resident services
If you’re not sure how to make line breaks, please use this one hour before the treasure hunt to comment on this initial post and experiment with your comment. ONLY MAKE ONE COMMENT WITH ALL THE ITEMS YOU'RE CLAIMING!
Do NOT start your comment with anything but the format I’ve provided. All other optional comments can go after the format Yes: Tree branches in green bag, by the left tree behind resident services. Yay! No: Yay! Tree branches in green bag, by the left tree behind resident services
Be as specific as possible with the location of the bag. Any ambiguity that makes me unsure will prevent you from claiming the gift. If your post is unclear, I'll comment "please be more specific" once for a chance to clarify. Please respond to my comment with a more specific location to claim.
I will update this post as items are claimed, by writing its location next to the item, but please also check earlier comments to see if anyone has claimed an item. If they have been claimed before you commented, unfortunately, you will not be able to redo for a different gift. I will reply with “Claimed!” on your comment once you have properly claimed item(s). Please wait until the end of the treasure hunt for pickup.
I may make an error, such as promising an item to a later commenter, when you correctly followed the rules for claiming. Unfortunately, if I’ve already told someone else that they will be receiving the item, I won’t be back-tracking on that promise. But I will give you the item’s worth in NMT. Please don’t argue with me about an item’s worth in this case >< And remember that edited posts will prevent you from receiving the NMT if I've made a mistake
I left a ladder at the airport for your convenience!
Redeeming your gift(s): This is a flash treasure hunt, so you have one hour for the hunt. At 9:00 PM EST (30 minutes after end of hunt), I will reach out to everyone in the order of comments and I will let you know when you are next in line to redeem (so expect about 5-10 minutes from my initial “you’re next” comment until it is your turn). Once it's your turn, I will DM you the code, and you will have 5 minutes from the time I DM you to redeem the item(s). Note that if you are redeeming the ungifted villagers, you will actually have 24 hours to come to my island and invite them. No wetsuits please
I’ve set these rules in place to keep things as organized and fair as possible. Please be patient with me, as I’m sure it’ll get hectic.
Thank you for reading all this, and have fun!!

...... "Sat-Sat-What's That?! ... Yayyyyyy ..... SATURDAY!" Tell you, among the many career paths I could have landed up in, I would have made an awesome and obviously extremely flexible cheerleader ...... And not a word about the flexibility, okay!?! ...... It's the weekend, kiddo. Special time all around. Slower start to the day, some more liberty even if we have to work ...... Ending in one of those high quality Saturday evenings we make special for ourselves, right? Hey, I'm so happy I put out the bird feeders this week! The little birdies started coming, and there is a ton of them. So cool to see how they organize themselves. They sit in or on the hedge, and they seem to take turns. Two or three will go to the feeder...then ones staying hop a branch or two to the side, as if they're in a queue... After a bit, one of them will fly up, and it makes one go away from the bird feeder. Very cute. And yes, "little birdies" is their technical term. Don't laugh! Look... I'm a city boy. I feel proud I distinguish a tree from a bush, and I just know these are birds. What kind of birds? .... The kind with wings, that can fly, you know? Like; birds. Oh! But I do know pigeons. I didn't put out the big bird feeder this year. I left it out last winter, because having taught them there was a feeder here and then taking it away would have been cruel, but they chase the small birdies away ... and they defecate like crazy. I mean...it's almost like you hear something fall, and you feel a vibration go through the house, and you wonder what just happened when you realize "ah...a pigeon just crapped on the porch". So this year...just no. Anyway ...... one of those small, little things that just keeps on being a daily, fun, joyful thing. The little birdies, not the pigeon crap, obviously ...... And of course good food is ...... and good coffee ...... Might be a bit too sweet, not sure, try it -- I put maybe a bit too much love in there, you know?
“The world is indeed full of peril, and in it there are many dark places; but still there is much that is fair, and though in all lands love is now mingled with grief, it grows perhaps the greater.” ― J.R.R. Tolkien The third year on the island. Oliver Queen and Freddie Tuck had become masters of their individual tasks. Oliver was a hunter — using spears, traps and stealth he could capture any prey. His aim was impeccable. It had to be, after all. Sometimes they had to rely on the small critters of the forests and the beach, so he had to be precise and quick about killing. Freddie was a builder — he built the traps, repaired their homes, crafted weaponry and pieces of furniture for comfort. The man had lost quite a bit of weight at that point and had built some muscle to replace it. It was their third anniversary of arriving on the island. And the two friends proposed a toast to new beginnings. They had just expanded quite a bit deeper into the jungles. Their homes were larger. They had paths and systems of coverings in place for ease of guidance to and from their abodes, whether it was to the beach or deeper into the trees. They had systems of pulleys and makeshift buckets for ease of access to sources of fresh water on the island. Additionally they had constructed a way of purifying any water they retrieved from the ocean as well as large containers to gather rainwater. The night was cold but they sat in a warm aura of a fireplace between their homes, where they had cleared away some trees in the center. They had finished setting up their traps and had weapons at the ready for any wild animals that may smell the delicious cooking fish and rodent that rested over the flames. One of the greatest discoveries of this island was cacao. They had saved much of it as a delicacy and with various berries they created some delicious warm fruity drink to go along with it. Something they didn’t do much. But tonight was a night of celebration. An honoring of how far they’ve come. Oliver rose his makeshift cup, smiling at Freddie across the fire pit. “To life,” Freddie said. “And to hope,” Oliver said. “It’s what has kept us going this far. And we’re still here.” They both drank deeply of the pulpy, warm berry flavored drink. They each had a bowl of cacao fruit to snack on while they prepared their main meal. They would eat much in celebration with some left over for breakfast tomorrow. And they decided they would share their plans for when they got off the island. It wasn’t something they discussed much, but it was something they held onto tightly. Despite their contentedness on the island, that was only due to misfortune. They had no choice. But to survive with purpose is what kept them getting up in the cold early hours each morning to put in the enormous amounts of work it required to live. “God damn,” Freddie said, looking at his cup. “We really perfected this I think.” “Reducing the blackberries was a good choice,” Oliver admitted. “We have plenty more in the jug, my friend.” “Of course. Tonight we feast, buddy. And I’m just going to go ahead and pretend there’s alcohol in this.” Oliver laughed. “Alcohol… wow, remember that?” “How could I ever forget? Maple whiskey on the rocks during a cold winter’s day… A nice, classic hoppy beer while my pals enjoyed their fancy drinks at some expensive bar.” He chuckled. “I want to go back to it. And I don’t at the same time.” “I know how you feel.” Oliver drank and thought of his father’s legacy. His life among endless money and zero cares back in Star City. He squeezed the cup, recalling all the times he had taken advantage of others because of his influence. “You still thinking about traveling, then?” Freddie nodded and stretched. “Oh, you know it.” He sniffed and poured himself more of the fruity beverage. “Even if I have to go it alone.” He paused for a while. “My girl wouldn’t join me. Hell, even I wouldn’t join me if I went back to the world and met who I was a few years ago. But that’s okay.” He spat to the side. “Fuck money, man. I don’t want it. Everything we’ve done here… everything you and I have been through. God, how many people have been through this right under my nose in the city?” He shook his head. “If we get out of this —” “When,” Oliver reminded him. Freddie looked up at him and smiled slowly. “That’s right. When. When we get out of this I’m using my money to help others. I’ll use what’s left over to travel and help whoever I can wherever I go. When I run out I’ll settle down. Countryside. Farm. Gotta tell you, I’ve gotten used to this whole manual labor thing.” They both laughed and poured themselves more to drink. Some of the fish was ready so Oliver got up to pull some off the stick onto some large leaves they would eat off of. “And you,” Freddie said. “You’re still thinking of taking over your father’s business.” Oliver nodded. “But not for the reasons I wanted to before.” He handed Freddie some food and sat down with his own. “I want to take this wealth and keep it. But use it for others.” Oliver shook his head and took a bite of the hot food. “I’m scared I might fall back into old habits. But I need to try. Because this world requires money to live. So as long as I have the resources… I can do the most good.” Freddie nodded. “Makes sense, Ollie. Makes sense.”
They heard a loud snap from within the deep jungle, beyond the shadows, hidden from the moonlight. Oliver straightened up and looked. “Probably just a branch falling,” Freddie said. But that was when the arrows started to fly. ⬨⬦ ➣ ⬦⬨
PRESENT DAY
⬨⬦ ➣ ⬦⬨ Oliver Queen had many things to take care of. Such was the burden of all heroes. But right now, there was the girl and he could take care of that. He hoped. Hope was all he could carry in his heart these days. Hope that he would see his sister again. Hope that he would reunite with his mother. Hope that Queen Industries could do some real good and make some real change in Star City — and hopefully, from there, the rest of the world. He tumbled and took a rest at a rooftop. But what good could he really do? He asked himself that sometimes. He unhooked his bow and looked down at it. There were real powerhouses in this world. Real metahumans who could save hundreds in a single swoop — who could destroy anyone with a single flick of their wrist. Oliver Queen was just some guy with a bow and arrow, who happened to also have way too much money at his disposal. That was his real power and he knew it, no matter how much he wished it weren’t so. It wasn’t his fighting prowess or his skill at marksmanship — it was his wealth. He closed his eyes and breathed slowly. It was an unfortunate reality but he had to make the most of it. For this city. For Dinah. For Freddie. And… well, for himself and his family. The world was unfair and, to some, Oliver Queen was as powerful as Superman. To the impoverished of this city, people with the wealth of the Queen family could do whatever they wanted. “That’s right,” Oliver said at that realization. “I can do whatever I want.” He hooked his bow to his back and continued on his way, running fast. “I can change things. I can change myself.” He was born with a power, just like these metahumans were. He could use it for selfishness — or he could use it for others. The choice was obvious. The only hard part was fulfilling the mission in his heart.
Dinah Lance, suited up as Black Canary, delivered a powerful kick to the mugger who promptly dropped the purse and fell to grovel and cry like a frightened child. She swiped the purse and tossed it to the woman who stood timidly behind her. She winked and gave a thumbs up as the woman laughed nervously and rushed off. Dinah knelt down and secured the thief’s wrists with some rope and moved him to lean against the side of the building, calling up the police on her flip phone so they could take care of him. As she waited, her thoughts were fixed on the rise of criminals with strange tech in the city. The man she and Ollie had fought earlier had seemingly come out of nowhere. Equipped like nothing she or Ollie with all his connections had ever seen before. And he wasn’t the only one. Police had been dealing with these kinds of people over and over again. High tech armor, weaponry and acting as if they’ve been dropped somewhere to cause some mayhem. All of them are inexperienced and only a challenge because of what they carried with them… which was most certainly given to them. She crossed her arms and knew Ollie was about to stumble upon this secretive, elusive organization. It wouldn’t put an end to them and she feared for his safety. But perhaps they would get a little further in their hunt and investigation. “Excuse me.” The voice came from behind and Dinah looked over her shoulder. She saw a figure, cloaked in black. A young woman’s voice came from within the hood. And where it didn’t cover her face, there was a dark mask to conceal her features. “Hello,” Dinah said carefully, ready to counter anything this stranger planned to do to her. “You’re Black Canary,” the young, disguised woman said. “Which means you know Green Arrow.” She spoke steadily. Sure of herself. “I have information for you. If you’d like to hear what I have to say.” Dinah turned around and tilted her head, eyeing this person with suspicion and slight amusement. “I do love to learn,” she said. “Do you have a name?” The stranger’s head rose a bit and she placed her hands into the deep pockets of her cloak. “You can call me Gadget. My Father worked for the criminal underground you and all the police are so desperately trying to apprehend.” Dinah lowered her arms and paid much more attention to her. “What do you have for me, Gadget?” She stepped forward and Dinah backed away an inch. “I have names. It’s the best I can give to you. But perhaps with your and Mr. Arrow’s connections you can do something more with them.” A cold wind gusted past them and Dinah nodded. “The man in charge calls himself Richard Dragon. Not his real name, of course.” She looked down. “He is a powerful, ruthless man. Don’t assume he wants anything more than power. He will kill anyone in his way. He will do whatever it takes to gain more power in this city.” She looked up and Dinah saw her eyes for a moment. A deep green. Full of sadness. “I only know two others. One who goes by Brick… I do not know his name. But the last I do know.” She took another step forward and said it with deep, deep distaste and hatred. “Emiko Queen.” Dinah reeled back but did her best to catch herself. Queen? She had never heard of anyone named Emiko in Ollie’s life. There couldn’t have been a relation there… but she also didn’t know of many other Queens besides Oliver’s, admittedly mysterious, family. The stranger tilted her head. “You seem to be struck even more silent by that final name.” Dinah collected herself and smiled. “I’m just impressed you have a real name for me… that is if you’re telling me the truth.” “I have no reason to lie to you, Black Canary. I want these criminals stopped. And I will help however I can. But… I can’t stay in one place for too long.” She seemed to glance to the side, down an alleyway for a moment before looking back to Dinah. From within her cloak she produced two small orbs. “I have to go now. I will find you again. Please relay this information to Green Arrow.” She dropped the devices and Dinah prepared to defend herself. In the next blink, the entire area was filled with smoke as the orbs burst. Dinah flipped backward and raised her fists, preparing herself. Waiting. When the smoke cleared, she was alone with the mugger she had intercepted moments before. She lowered her arms and heard sirens approaching. After a few final looks around her, to make sure that girl was really gone, she rushed off and used her grappling hook to get out of the area and up onto a nearby building. ⬨⬦ ➣ ⬦⬨ Oliver followed the information he and Dinah were given by the police and rushed to where this young Arrowette had gone to. For ease of travel, he ran to a private garage in the city and leaped into one of his many… dare he call it… Arrowcars that he had hidden away in the city. It was fast, sleek and got him to the abandoned, dark police station where the tragedy of one Officer Marcy Money occurred not very long ago. He got out of the vehicle, equipped his bow and eased his way up the path, through the woods and toward the warehouse up ahead where these criminals were once held out in… until it exploded and left no more clues to follow. Hope was what Oliver held onto as he ran. He wasn’t far behind this girl so he knew he would find her. He shouted her name for good measure. Through the trees — as he ran across an open field — as he explored the empty, vast remnants of the warehouse. And he entered the next patch of trees, calling for the amateur hero, hoping to see her alive. Hoping to meet her. Hoping to learn more about her and put an end to her dangerous goals. As he slowly entered the trees he could clearly see the aftermath of a battle. Arrows were lodged into tree trunks, snapped and restless on the forest floor. Some of them professionally made. Many of them were clearly made by hand but well crafted. He lifted one and nodded, impressed. Well, if anything he could probably give the kid one thing — she seemed to be pretty skilled for as far as that compliment could go. Much to his horror he found blood on the ground among the grass and dirt. Rope that had been cut away, wrapped loosely around a tree. Was someone restrained here? He did his best to find some leads as to where this fight could have gone to… …and he quickly received an answer. An explosion echoed across the sky, shaking his bones. He whirled around and through the gaps in the trees he saw something bright rise up in the distance. Far but powerful enough to be heard and felt from this distance. He rushed through the trees and at the treeline he could see beyond the hills and the next neighborhood over, a large fire on the horizon, spreading and growing high into the sky. What on Earth…? Hope, he reminded himself. It was all he had. Even among that mysterious destruction, whatever caused it, and whoever might have been within its vicinity… he had to hold onto hope. It was all that separated a life of potential from a life of desperation on an island made of pain and loss.
The western and central regions of la Metropole are perhaps the most useful for the federation’s needs, showcasing exemplary production of beef, dairy, pork, poultry and various fruits, especially apples. The introduction of a domestic beef and dairy industry has faltered somewhat in the Madagascan highlands due to lack of proper economic support, so the ability to open up grazing lands to economic use would further diversify the federation’s production capacity and export potential. Other interesting things of note are the potential for a domestic wine industry in the southern highland region, the same area whose climate permits commercial wheat cultivation. The breeding of Charolais and Zebu cattle in an experimental program based out of Dijon has also borne fruit, as the resulting ‘Canchim’ cattle have far superior meat to the Zebu without losing its characteristic heat resistance.
Democratic People’s Republic of Algeria
Algeria’s most useful data is in the cultivation of pulses, especially lentils and other forms of beans that are not a significant crop share in Madagascar. Similarly to other legumes, such products would prove quite useful in crop rotations due to their ability to fix nitrogen, provide forage for animals, and manufacture fallow. Chickpeas and lentils seem perhaps the most likely to serve these roles.
People’s Republic of China
The Pearl River delta has provided a treasure trove of information. While sharing many agricultural characteristics with the rest of monsoon Asia, the region has remained peaceful after the end of the civil war and was thus far safer to access than much of Southeast Asia has been. The most revolutionary conclusion is this: the rice-fish system. The use of various forms of carp as consumers of weeds within irrigated rice paddies has observably increased rice crop outputs by roughly 20%, and the labor cost of maintaining the fish is balanced out by the lack required man-hours for weed control. Additionally, the irrigation and fish-rearing methods themselves are quite simple to replicate across almost all of the rice-producing regions from the eastern coast through to Mahajanga. With the introduction of non-competitive Nile Tilapia and azolla ferns as fodder, the synergy of rice production and fish rearing would both increase yields and provide a stable source of protein.
Chinese production of shrimp and seaweed was also a useful lesson, considering that Madagascan shrimp are of high quality and potential. Some consideration has been given to the concept of using brackish water pond systems akin to the Chinese model in order to build a multi-trophic harvest. Unfortunately, this will likely take investment and technological support structures that the federation remains incapable of accomplishing at this juncture. A final surprise was the high demand in East Asia for sea cucumbers, both as a delicacy and a traditional medicine. Considering their ubiquity in parts of Madagascar, they could also serve as a way to boost the income of poor farmers.
United States of America
The United States had by far the most to share from North America, both in terms of processing and sheer industrial might and mechanization, but also in regards to diversity of crops and growing conditions across the country. By far the most useful cereal crop study was conducted with maize, whose cultivation seems quite viable from the central highlands across the southwest of Madagascar proper. Additional lessons came from critical developments in regards to use of peanuts, also traditionally cultivated in Madagascar, to fix nitrogen in a three year rotation with maize.
Perhaps most notable is the previously unexplored potential for Madagascar to be host to cotton and hemp production akin to regions of the Southern US. Cotton’s potential for spurring on a domestic textile market is obvious, but according to studies the Americans shared, hemp could be so much more. It’s more efficient for making paper than wood pulp, and versatile enough to serve as a rough textile for canvas, fabrics and mulch.
Other suggested crops that could be grown for diversification of the Madagascan diet are tomatoes, okra, cherimoya and several types of squash, as well as additional cultivars of coffee, bananas and citruses.
Federative Republic of Brazil
Brazil’s Amazon rainforest is the greatest single region of biodiversity on the entire planet, and her spectacular mismanagement is a warning to be remembered. Madagascar’s own vast diversity of unique species has huge potential for pharmaceutical, genetic and tourist value, and clearly levelling the place just to get two years’ worth of use from the thin topsoil is not a worthwhile endeavor.
As for other crops, Brazilian investment in the banana industry has produced a significant banana economy largely independent of the American corporate cudgel. Other large and small agricultural industries of interest are pineapples, sugarcane, guaraná, watermelons, oranges, açaí, avocados and cacao.
Republic of Indonesia
Indonesia was a treasure trove for Madagascar’s future foreign trade opportunities. The production of cash crops for export, especially spices and flavors, is like no other. The federation’s indigenous ylang-ylang and ramontchi can follow this model, and the federation has clear potential to expand into the market for cinnamon and cloves which has been disrupted by violence. Cacao production for chocolate is also in the cards, befitting the tropical climate of the northeast.
Other useful examples of staple crops are cassava and plantains, quite suited to the wet eastern coastline and outlying islands. Breadfruit can also provide a useful source of starch and calories in the northern tip of Madagascar. Hawai’ian taro did not originally seem of much use, but seeing the cultivation of similar tubers in Indonesian climes, it may be viable as a new staple in the northwest of the country. The local tuna and crab fisheries also provided models for mid-term maritime development.
Republic of India
India is vast but largely uninspiring in regards to direct agricultural lessons, at least compared to other equivalent-sized powers. However, it provides useful lessons on how to manage a dairy industry in a warm monsoon climate, as well as unique methods of managing sugarcane and sorghum cultivation. India also inspires potential for minor export markets in black pepper, turmeric and rare corals.
That said, there is at least one amazing program to watch: the Green Revolution on the march. The booming crop production in the Punjab is extraordinary, with high-yielding variety (HYV) seeds and genetic disease resistance causing an enormous boost in output. However, it is concerning to Madagascan observers that the seeds being used rely on substantial irrigation of a type only possible in portions of the island, which would exacerbate economic inequality between ethnic groups. The seed acquisition process could also leave the federation beholden to foreign interests, which is exactly the opposite of the Resampa administration’s policy line.
Dominion of Canada
Canada was certainly a change of pace for the Madagascan scientists, most of whom had not been anywhere colder than Metropolitan France. That said, it held interesting examples of agriculture in subpar conditions, and an exquisite fishing and lumber industry. Overall, the most useful takeaway was the lobster industry, which showed a potential future source of income for the communities of the southeast around Sainte-Luce and Taolagnaro, in which lobster fishing is far more primitive. Should the government find ways to provide those communities with suitable harbors, boats and access to world markets, the profit margins would be substantial.
Additional observations of wood pulping and trawling methods were made, but these proved mostly unsuitable for the federation’s territories. However, they were notable for their wanton disregard for the future, which most Canadians seemed completely unconcerned with. It appeared that the potential to run out of trees or fish was not one that they had wrapped their heads around, which was in strong contrast to the Madagascan understanding. In recent decades, the French attempts to establish a rubber industry on the island had permanently scarred many forests, and left many without their traditional sources of food and income. The possibility of someone not understanding the potential for this to happen seemed almost comical, but those Canadians are strange people in general. The lack of recognition of the unsustainable nature of Madagascan “Tavy” agriculture demonstrates a level of hypocrisy on the part of the researchers.
Kingdom of Norway
Norwegian fish hatcheries were fascinating. The use of specialist facilities to grow fish past the fingerling stage via induced spawning and other such methods would be difficult to replicate in the federation’s territories, but perhaps still a worthwhile endeavor. Hatcheries and dedicated stocking ponds could be combined with the East Asian fish-rice farming system if only there were enough resources available to make it work. Another possibility would be seeding native species of seagoing or brackish-water animals, such as sea cucumbers and shrimp, for export. On a related note, Norwegian hydropower is a sight to behold, and difficult to avoid taking notice of due to its direct connection with fresh water management and fertilizer production. Perhaps this could be a step in the right direction.
Union of Soviet Socialist Republics
While Soviet documents were less openly accessible than in most other countries, there were still significant lessons to be learned across the course of the observational tour. Primarily, the focus of these studies was on root vegetable cultivation in Tula, most notably sugar beets, potatoes and yams. While sugar beet cultivation is perhaps less than an optimal fit, lessons learned in potato and yam cultivation could make a significant difference in terms of providing bulk caloric content in subpar soils across the edges of the highland zone. The Soviet model of collectivization was also an interesting study, though not very practical in Madagascar.
Commonwealth of Australia
The fifth continent has recently become a significant trade and investment partner of Madagascar, and the federation now stands to gain from their agricultural industry’s knowledge and practices. Australia’s agricultural economy is nearly as diverse as Madagascar’s, with production ranging from barley to sugarcane, oranges to tomatoes. Their most important contribution by far, though, is in the livestock industry.
The Australian cattle industry is a thing of beauty, organized as a major force for exports across Europe and especially East Asia. The organized cattle station system of the Top End is an economic marvel, and could be replicated via responsible state-observed grazing stations in the less populated highland regions. Smaller operations across South Australia and Tasmania also provide significant lessons on best practices for individual family and community cattle raising. Solid foundations on small-scale poultry, pig and lamb raising will also diversify the Madagascan diet and agricultural economy.
Republic of Finland
The Finnish forestry management process was unfortunately not very applicable to the federation’s experiences at home. On the plus side, however, Finnish fire control methods were relatively helpful. Additionally, the rapid development of the Finnish agricultural industry has demonstrated some of the world’s most modern land-clearing methods, especially in terms of neutralizing acidity and draining marshland. The Finnish experience of domestic self-sufficiency in difficult climatic conditions is also admirable and worth holding up as a model.
State of Israel
Israel’s agricultural industry is like a man-made oasis, with drip irrigation being the principal feature. While the material start-up costs are significant, the water savings potential is high and the ability to easily accommodate irregular and unlevelled fields opens up new opportunities for exploiting more of the country’s open land area. With detailed guidance on how to operate different forms of drip irrigation systems to avoid complications such as clogging and water wastage, the federation’s southwestern region will be able to experience a slow-rolling renaissance in production of staple vegetables, cherries and dates.

NAVA Halloween scent release/resurgence thoughts and reviews?

What A Day: Cootie Giuliani by Sarah Lazarus & Crooked Media (12/07/20)
"Look, what's at stake here in this election is the American dream." - Kelly Loeffler, asked whether senators should be allowed to trade stocks
The Silent Majority
Donald Trump is rapidly running out of new ways to lose an election that ended a month ago, but Republicans have continued to encourage his conspiracy theories and attempts to throw out the results—mostly in the most cowardly way possible.
Hours before heading to Georgia on Saturday for a Senate campaign rally/public whining opportunity, Trump called Gov. Brian Kemp (R-GA) and demanded that he a) pressure the state legislature to overturn Joe Biden’s victory, and b) order an audit of absentee ballot signatures. Kemp declined, which doesn’t make the request itself any less of a criminal attack on democracy. Trump continued to dump on Kemp at his evening rally, in between ranting about his own loss and distractedly urging Georgians to go vote in their hopelessly rigged election: “This election was rigged, and we can’t let it happen to two of the most respected people in Washington. Your governor could stop it easily if he knew what the hell he was doing.”
Sens. Kelly Loeffler (R-GA) and David Perdue (R-GA) were met with chants of “stop the steal!” and “fight for Trump!” when they took the stage on Saturday, and while neither repeated Trump’s lies about his stolen victory, they’ve continued to support them. When asked whether Trump lost the election in her Sunday debate with Raphael Warnock, Loeffler repeatedly deflected, saying only that Trump “has every right to use every legal recourse available.” Any thoughts about recourses that involve asking the state legislature to violate election laws, Kel? (Perdue was too chickenshit to show up for his debate with Jon Ossof, but here’s his empty podium speaking volumes.)
They’re in good company. (Well, terrible company, but there’s a lot of it–you get it.) The Washington Postcontacted all 249 Republicans in the House and Senate, and found just 27 who were willing to acknowledge Biden’s victory. About 88 percent of congressional Republicans refused to say who won the election, functionally pledging support for Trump’s attempts to invalidate it. Those attempts have not and will not work, but a chilling majority of GOP lawmakers just confirmed they have no problem with the kind of extralegal election-stealing tactics Trump has engaged in.
When Republicans refuse to condemn Trump’s insane lies, they assume responsibility for the threats to election officials that follow.
Armed protesters gathered outside of Michigan Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson’s home on Saturday night, shouting obscenities, conspiracy theories, and demands to overturn the election results. (The 2020 version of Christmas caroling.) Election-related threats and harassment have been rising steadily in battleground states across the country, and 88 percent of Republicans in Congress have tacitly said “no notes!”
It’s unclear how Trump’s gun-toting fans will react when his options have been exhausted, but we’re nearing that point. Georgia has recertified its results after counting all ballots for a third time, handing Biden his weekly Georgia victory. Judges have dismissed Sidney Powell’s kraken lawsuits in Georgia and Michigan, and the official Trump legal team has lost its pinnacle of legal flatulence Rudy Giuliani, now that he’s been hospitalized with coronavirus after potentially exposing hundreds of people. A fitting conclusion to both the post-election mess, and one man’s utterly extraordinary six-week faceplant.
Just as the stakes of the presidential election were existential, the aftermath has brought the stakes of the Georgia Senate runoffs into sharp relief: We can have a Senate that’s prepared to work with Joe Biden to bring about a national recovery, or we can be stuck with one controlled by a party that refuses to even recognize Joe Biden as president. Don’t ease up now.

Under The Radar
Senate Republicans have invited anti-vaxx doctor Jane Orient to be the lead witness at a Tuesday hearing on coronavirus treatments, upholding their sworn oath to make public-health officials’ work as hard as possible. Orient is the executive director of Association of American Physicians and Surgeons, a group opposed to government involvement in medicine, and has called vaccine mandates “a serious intrusion into individual liberty, autonomy and parental decisions.” Orient has also spread conspiracy theories about coronavirus vaccines and promoted hydroxychloroquine as a coronavirus treatment, and said she plans to use her Senate testimony to do the same. This is the person Republicans are giving a platform, as health officials prepare to roll out a life-saving mass vaccination program hinging on public cooperation. Mark it down, the first time dis-Orient-ing would be a good thing. (Sorry! Sorry!!!)
A massive MIT study of fake news found that false information consistently outperforms the truth on Twitter, and it’s not because of bots. The study analyzed some 126,000 stories tweeted over more than ten years, and found that a false story reaches 1,500 people six times quicker than a true story, on average. That’s the case on every subject, but false stories about politics regularly get the most action. It seems to be a matter of human preference: Between 2006 and 2016, Twitter bots amplified true stories as often as they amplified fake ones. The MIT team proposed two hypotheses for why people are more eager to share misinformation than real news: First, fake news seems more “novel,” and second, fake tweets evoke more emotion, on average, than accurate tweets. To be fair, this study came out before Lifetime tweeted about the very real and deeply upsetting Colonel Sanders movie, which might have skewed things.

Keep reading to find out about growing cacao trees and other cocoa tree info. Cacao Plant Info. Cocoa beans come from cacao trees, which reside in the genus Theobroma and originated millions of years ago in South America, east of the Andes. There are 22 species of Theobroma amongst which T. cacao is the most common. Archaeological evidence The Olmecs in Mexico cultivated the cacao tree for its beans as long ago as 400 BCE. The cacao tree is unusual because it produces flowers directly on its trunk and branches, rather than on new shoots. This flowering method is called cauliflory. The Latin name Theobroma means 'food of the gods'. Cacao (Theobroma cacao), known as "the food of the gods," and its main byproduct, chocolate, come from the seeds, or nibs, of a pod, the fruit of a tree native to tropical America. The cacao tree usually requires shade trees, often the so-called madre de cacao (mother of cacao), also an American native. Experts disagree about the number of cacao types. 1. The cacao tree's botanical name is Theobroma Cacao, which means "food of the gods" in Greek. 2. The cacao tree grows to be about 30 feet tall bearing white flowers and colorful fruit. 3. It takes a cacao tree about five years to produce its first fruit, otherwise known as a cacao pod. 4. The cacao tree is a small tree originally grown in tropical South America. It only grows to 4 to 8 meters in height.
